PUPPY DOG KISSES 'FREE' WITH EACH DOG RE-HOMED THROUGH OUR RESCUE

How to Adopt a Dog:

If you would like to apply for a dog we have available, or be pre-approved and put on our wait list, please fill out the following form and email it to adoptions@coldnoseswarmbeds.org. If there is a specific dog you are interested in, check their posting to see if there is any additional information.

Adoption Application

The first step to adopting from us is getting in your application. Once we receive an application, we will either approve or disapprove it. If you are approved and interested in a specific dog, we will then set up a visit for you to meet with the dog. The sooner we receive your application, the higher your order of priority will be in adopting a specific dog. However, we do take into consideration the dogs personality and needs, therefore dogs are NOT adopted out on a first come first serve basis.

If you are on a wait-list, or looking to be pre-approved for later, a home-check will be scheduled. If you are adopting a dog, your home-check MUST be completed before you can adopt. We also require an adoption contract be signed. Contracts are valid for the life of the dog(s), and dog's must be returned to "Cold Noses, Warm Beds" if you are unable to fulfill the life-long agreement.

Where Do Our Dogs Come From?

This rescue takes in local dogs needing rescue.  We also provide air-transport for dogs out of "high kill" shelters all over the United States. There are NO borders when you just want to save a dog.

What else is provided when adopting a dog from Cold Noses Warm Beds?

Health Certification.

Spay/Neuter Certificate (if dog is over 6 months of age; if under 6 months spay/neuter is mandatory once they are of age, and is included in the adoption contract)

Vaccination Records (all shots are up to date)

All dogs are de-wormed

All U.S. dogs are on Revolution heart-worm preventative

Previous Shelter History of the dog (if available)

Rabies vaccinations

Transfer of micro-chip at time of adoption in your family name AS WELL as this rescue's name

Any possessions turned in with the dog in the case of an owner surrender

Can I adopt a certain breed of dog?

Yes - we have a 'Match Maker' Program. We participate in the air-transport of dogs out of 'high kill' shelters all over the Pacific Northwest including Canada. If you are partial to a certain breed and characteristics, we have the ability to help you. Anyone looking for a certain 'breed' can contact us directly to get 'pre-approved' via our adoption application.  We will then review it with you to make sure that this 'type' of dog is suitable for your family, and work with you to bring your new family member home.

What Does Sponsoring one of our dogs cost?

Our dogs have sponsorship fees ranging from  $300 to $450. This rescue understands the 'plight' of our seniors and their ability to pay full re-homing fees.  If you are a senior and are looking for a dog, please contact us for a substantially reduced sponsorship fee for one of our dogs.

What Does The Sponsorship Fee Cover?

See "What else is provided when adopting a dog?" above. Vet visit, health checks, vaccines, de-worming, tests, microchips, tattoo's, and routine spays and neuters are a major contributor to the cost of our dogs. Transportation, kennels for air travel, US permits and customs inspections, and mandatory "double" health checks also contribute to the cost of puppies flown in from high kill shelters..

All our dogs are on a "pay it forward" program - any surplus money from the sponsorship fee /donation goes to help pay for the next dog to be transported to safety, or to help the cost of surgeries and treatments for dogs in need.

Why Do You Have an Adoption Contract?

Our adoption contract is in place to ensure that all dogs will be cared for and loved their entire lives. The contract covers many important aspects. If a dog is ever neglected or abused, we have the right take him back and give him medical attention and a new home. If a dog is lost, we are to be notified to help search to the best of our abilities. Adopters are not allowed to sell or place their dog in a shelter if the need to re home it arises - it must be returned to the rescue and any new adoptive home screened.
